After venturing into the backcountry on Java Cat, we set anchor near uninhabited mangrove islands and launch the kayaks. We have developed a system that makes it very easy for young and old alike to climb on and off the kayaks with grace and ease.

Our catamaran is designed for sailing, so once we get out of the marina we raise our sails and use the wind. It takes about an hour to get out to our first stop in the National Wildlife Refuge, which gives your captain/guide plenty of time to tell you about the area and the plans for that days trip. It is also a good time to lay out on the expansive trampolines and watch the water and fish zoom by.
The weather in Key West can vary, so we have more than one place available to snorkel at, this assures that you will get the best experience snorkeling without having to worry about big waves and strong currents. Your captain briefs you on the equipment (all included) and safe snorkeling guidelines, and then gets in the water with you to help identify fish and other creatures. In the winter months you may want to stop by Lost Reef Adventures located at the Historic Seaport just around the corner from Java Cat and rent a wet suit($15.00 for 24 hour rental), they also provide prescription mask.
Visit the "Lakes"
The central jewel of the Key West Wildlife Refuge. A uniquely shallow ocean environment bordered with mangrove islands and sea grass beds. Home and nursery to a myrial of tropical marine and bird life. Nicknamed the lakes because the water remains clear and calm, even during windy days. Breathtaking vistas in every direction. Throughout the trip your captain/guide will offer knowledgible insight about the Wildlife Refuge that was established by President Roosevelt to preserve the mangrove islands to the many birds that migrate to the islands each year for their mating season. Our trips include towels, water, soft drinks, & a light gourmet lunch (fruit, veggies, assorted salads & artesian bread.)
